As years go by and new ones come in, we get fantastic new year traditions like Chinese New Year! Starting January 29th, 2025, is the Year of the Snake! Celebrations last up to 16 days, but only the first 7 days are considered a public holiday (January 29th–February 4th, 2025). Lunar New Year 2025 falls on Wednesday, January 29th, and celebrations culminate with the Lantern Festival on February 12th. Chinese New Year marks the transition between zodiac signs: 2025 is the Year of the Snake; 2024 is the Year of the Dragon. 3 diffrent Festivals happen during 3 different chunks of days. (Jan 21st–28th) Little Year - Preparations for the new year begin January 21st, 2025, and last until New Year's Eve. (Jan 29th–Feb 8th) Spring Festival - Lunar New Year officially begins on January 29th, 2025, and ends on February 8th. 2025. (Feb 9th–12th) Lantern Festival - Preparations begin February 9th, 2025, and the festival is held on February 12th, 2025. The festival frequently referred to as 'Chinese New Year' is not only celebrated in China. The term 'Lunar New Year' is increasingly used to refer to festivals in other countries that take place at the same time and with many of the same traditions as in China. Some Other Fun New Year Traditions around the world would be,

Denmark: leaping off a chair and smashing dishes, To make sure they get started on the right foot, Danes leap into the New Year – literally – by jumping off a chair (or other sturdy furniture) at the stroke of midnight.

Spain: 12 grapes at midnight, American couples might share a kiss on New Year's Eve, but when the clock strikes midnight in Spain, celebrants are busy stuffing their mouths with grapes. As the New Year passes, Spanish tradition holds that eating 12 grapes – one for each chime of the clock and month of the year.

Japan: ring the bell In Japan, Buddhist temples across the country ring their bells 108 times starting at midnight. This practice is believed to cleanse everybody of the 108 human sins and the 108 worldly desires.

Various countries: lucky underwear, In several countries, it's tradition to wear a specific color of underwear on New Year's Eve to guarantee good luck. The color varies by country: In Italy and Turkey, it's red for luck, Argentinians wear pink underwear for love, and Bolivians wear yellow for prosperity.
